Why does god use angels

Maybe one of your loved ones has spoken last words of seeing angels or light before being ushered straight in to the presence of God. We see many accounts in the Bible of when God sends His messengers to provide comfort and to minister to those who are in need and to those who are passing from this life to the next.

When Elijah was afraid and running for his life in 1 Kings 19 , an angel appeared to him and provided food and water for his journey. According to the Bible, angels can also be used by God to punish sin and to bring his judgment.

We are wise to walk with spiritual discernment, for the Bible says that even the devil will disguise himself as an angel of light. In 2 Kings, King Hezekiah prayed boldly to God, asking for his help against their enemies. The Assyrians were known for the cruel way they treated their captiv es.

And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. Angels are mighty beings who offer praise and worship to God. God never intends for us to worship angels or pray to them.

He alone is worthy of our worship Revelation And angels remind us of this truth. We imagine angels to be very beautiful, winged beings, dressed in white cloaks and almost glowing with an aura of a body-engulfing halo. While that may be true, God often sends them as invisible beings or in special clothing to blend in with their surroundings as they perform their assigned duties.

Are these angels our loved ones who have died? No, angels are creations of God. We, as humans, are not angels and neither are our deceased loved ones. Some people pray to an angel or form a special relationship with an angel. Sadly this 25 yr. But her month-old daughter survived. And not only survived the impact of the crash but for 14 hours afterward, still strapped in her car seat, hanging upside down in the freezing cold without food or water, she clung to life.

A fisherman came upon the wreckage the following day, immediately called for help and as rescuers responded, all 4 of them reported this same detail. We replied back, 'hang in there, we're trying what we can. The wreckage revealed this dear mom who, reports indicate, had already been deceased, quite possibly from the impact of the crash.

Her baby Lily was found unconscious and barely breathing, yet still alive, saved just in time. One thing is sure. Miracles still happen today. This precious baby now lives on. Despite all odds, through the courageous efforts of rescuers and by the sheer grace of an Almighty God, baby Lily lives. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. There are people who have had encounters with angels in our world today.

But is that really what angels look like? In order to know the truth, we have to ask, what does the Bible say about angels? These facts will help us learn a lot about the angels in the Bible: what they are, why God created them, how their hierarchy works, and much more.

However, from time to time angels took on a bodily form and appeared to various people in Scripture Matthew ; Hebrews Another type of angel, the seraphim, are only mentioned once in the Bible. Angels in the Bible appear to have a rank and order.

Only two angels are specifically named in Scripture. As we said above, the archangel Michael is mentioned in Jude 9, Revelation —8, and Daniel and Gabriel is the only other angel named in the Bible. The fact that angels are not omnipresent is made explicit when an angel comes to Daniel and says:. The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, so I left him there with the prince of the kingdom of Persia and came to make you understand what is to befall your people in the latter days.

Unlike God, who is omnipresent, angels are finite creatures, limited to one place at one time. But apparently, there are a lot of them. Here are a few of the ways the Bible tells us how many angels there are:.
