It will still turn to duel with Loghain though, but the claim to throne is legitime. Help the people out first; they'll mostly be in the Gnawed Noble Tavern.

However, he believed that his sister was a better ruler than he could ever become, so Alfstanna became the Bann and he joined the Templar Order. Alfstanna is involved in the quest Lost Templar , - her brother Irminric is held captive in the dungeons of the Arl of Denerim's Estate suffering from lyrium withdrawal and asks the Warden to give his ring to his sister to prove his survival.
If the Warden delivers the ring, Alfstanna will support the Warden during the Landsmeet. If the Warden fails to win the Landsmeet but has her support, or alternatively wins the Landsmeet, has her support and opts to attack Loghain anyway, she will join the fight with Loghain and his guards in support of the Warden if it goes on long enough.
