This fitness DVD follows a 5-day-on and 2-day-off routine. The additional day off is present due to how intense the workout is. For this workout DVD, the exercises are between minutes and they are more strenuous than the P90X. This is a very important thing to consider as it will determine which fitness plan you choose. There is a significant difference in the intensity of the P90X and the P90X2.
The P90X is designed towards those who want a straightforward, yet challenging workout. This fitness DVD is made to build muscle, improve durance and can even strengthen your cardiovascular system for overall better health.
The P90X2, on the other hand, uses sports science for a more intense workout. It is designed to boost stamina and strength for pro-athletes or those who have advanced regimes. This is certainly not a plan for beginners to fitness. This workout regime focuses on strengthening the muscles that are associated with stability. It can also provide more variety, making it great for experienced exercisers. When you are trying to decide between P90X and P90X2, you need to note that they are aimed at completely different groups of people.
The P90X2 is aimed at those who are already in great shape and strength. This is a fitness plan that can improve your strength and it is very intense. The P90X is a great plan for those who want to try to get into better shape and develop a good routine. As it relies on muscle confusion, this is a great plan to keep you on track and you can use it for a long period of time. The P90X and the P90X2 both come with their own diet plans to help you get the best results possible.
P90X2 has a lot of core work and total body moves throughout the program which calls for that extra day off to give your body more time to recover. P90X also sticks with all different types of pull ups and push ups throughout the program. In P90X2 the first month is about building a foundation and getting your body used to being on unstable ground.
The second month is just like the original P90X. A day of chest and back, another day of shoulders and arms and so on. Basically the program tells you to take a recovery week when you feel you need it and also tells you to move on to the next phase when you ready for the next one.
So when it comes to P90X vs P90X2 the schedules do have some differences however they are both 90 days. When comparing P90X vs P90X2 they both use minimal equipment but are somewhat different. In P90X a chin up bar, some resistance bands and a mat is all you basically need. In P90X2 there is someone always doing a modified version for that person that travels a lot. P90X2 also incorporates the use of medicine balls , a stability ball and a foam roller.
These pieces of equipment all challenge your core stability. The foam roller is used to apply something called myofascial release or a deep tissue massage. You use this everyday of the P90X2 program. Both of the programs can be done in a small area of your home with minimal equipment.
Another option is to check Amazon and eBay. However, be sure to research the sellers and thoroughly read the listings before making a purchase. These two programs have some things in common even though they focus on different goals overall more on that soon. Either program routine will give you most of those benefits, but P90X focuses on building muscle mass while P90X2 will give you more stability training and functional movement.
Think of the differences between going to the gym to lift weights for aesthetics and some strength versus playing a sport that requires balance, agility, and speed in addition to strength.
You get more core exercises and stretching and less cardio even the plyo videos are less intense with P90X2 than P90X. P90X is more focused on weight training but has that intense cardio and some stretching and core, still built in.
Unless you go with Beachbody on Demand and get access to both programs in one fell swoop, the prices can be drastically different. They range between 30 and 58 minutes. Before working with Kim and Kalee, I felt guarded sharing my fitness journey and doubted my abilities as a coach. They have offered so many amazing training opportunities which have helped me step out of my comfort zone and build my confidence as a leader. Kim and Kalee Sorey are absolutely awesome!
They gave me the confidence to become a coach and have been valuable mentors ever since. I strive to emulate the accepting and easy going approach that has made them wildly successful.
